EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS & UTILITIES

The Town of Unity invites applications for the position of Director of Public Works & Utilities.  Reporting to the Administrator, the Director has overall responsibility for the Pubic Works including utilities and the vehicle and equipment repair shop.  Duties include administrative responsibility, budget /long range planning and activity coordination.

Candidates must possess excellent organization skills, administrative skills, public relations skills, people skills, management skills, have a valid class 5 drivers license, and both oral and written communication skills.  The Director will be results oriented and proficient at making recommendations and decisions.  General knowledge of water, utilities, maintenance and an awareness of the working of Municipal Government will be considered an asset.  Candidates must possess or be willing to obtain, Water and Wastewater Certification.  Candidates with a recognized engineering designation will be preferred. 

The Town offers a benefit package and salary will commensurate with qualifications.

Relevant work experience, education and a minimum of two work related references must be included with the application.  A current Drivers Abstract and Criminal Record Check must be submitted upon hiring.
